Antispyware Beta 1 just not good enough???

I currently run beta 1 every night on schedule, and yet i still think i have
the svchost.exe that we all heard so much about. Apparently you are only
supposed to have one of the svchost.exe, and yet I somehow have 5. This
could be the reason for some of my system hangups. Could someone point me
into the right direction as to fix this problem?

No, having multiple instances of svchost is perfectly normal. I
have five running at the moment.

If you have a problem, this isn't it. Post back describing your
symptoms.

So basically you're asking why ASW can't remove a legitimate Windows
process?
Apparently

And from where did you glean this little gem of BS? Did you bother to check
its provenance? Of course you didn't. Next time STFW before posting, to
check whether what you're about to post isn't complete crap.
and yet I somehow have 5.
So? I have eight.

Nope.

What problem? The only problems you have are laziness and stupidity and
those aren't things we can fix here.

svchost.exe is used for some trojan viruses to hide the file....

At startup, Svchost.exe checks the services portion of the registry to
construct a list of services that it needs to load. In normal conditions
multiple instances of Svchost.exe run at the same time.
A description of Svchost.exe in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314056
Note: The svchost.exe file is located in the c:\windows\System32 folder. In
other cases, svchost.exe is a virus, spyware, trojan or worm!
"Svchost.exe" (Generic Host Process for Win32 Services) is an integral part
of Windows OS.

I'm leaving you all. Hopefully, by the end of next month at the very latest
(if all goes according to plan, which it rarely does) I'll be in possession
of a G5. Yep, that's right folks, after spending a week with a friend and
playing around with his G4, I'm convinced. A Mac is a significant upgrade -
there is nothing, absolutely nothing I shall miss about Windows. Mac OS X is
an infinitely superior OS. Word crashed on me three times today typing a
simple letter. Not impressed. I'm selling my PC - it's still only six months
old, it must be worth around £1500 I would reckon.
Maybe then I'll be able to get some work done (if I can convince Adobe to
sidegrade my CS2 Premium).
Sarah
(who will miss Publisher, just not enough to keep using a PC).
