Is there a way to configure Windows XP so that I am automatically logged off
if I'm not at my computer for 5 or 10 min? I was able to set one comptuer
this way, but I can't set this other computer.

Open the display settings, click on the screen saver tab, enable the screen
saver and tick the box asking for a password on resume. Else, click the
power options button, click on the advanced tab, and have it prompt for
password on resume.

If you have xp, then go to screensaver options and tick the box that says
return to welcome screen after screensaver. Make sure you have a password
for your account.

.. . . and if you really did mean Logoff rather than just lock the
machine, then there is a download of a Logoff screen saver that
installs like and is set up like a screensaver, but when it kicks in
it actually logs the account off.
Warning: this can cause loss of unsaved, open work.
