Have encountered similar problem myself and was able to fix the same as
follows:

1) Remove NAV completely from your system by uninstalling it first, followed
by a reboot, followed by a search for folders named Symantec, Live Update,
Norton etc.... Once you find any of the folders listed as above, please
delete them.
2) Next install a fresh copy of the latest NAV 9.0 or 10.0 and update the
defs via the Intelligent Updater that can be downloaded from Symantec. After
installation is complete and updated, run a full manual system scan with Deep
Scanning options. This should get rid of the worm.
3) Finally for the peace of mind, also get the Sober Removal Tool from Trend
Micro or even Symantec and run a full system scan.
4) Lastly, for even more peace of mind, check out the Sober Security
Advisory at Symantec, note down the affected Registry Settings as identified
in the article, fire up the Regedit or Regedt32 (win2k) and chek the
hives/keys.
5) Whilst you're at it, you might want to check the Virus Bulletin at
http://www.virusbtn.com/
