File Permission Issue

I'm having an interesting issue with file/folder permissions. I create a
folder on a share drive and populate it with files. When I go back to the
security tab, it tells me that I only have permission to view the security of
the files even though Everyone/Full control is the permission setting and I
am the owner of the folder. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Dan

Dan, can you provide more details like:

Where is the share residing, is it the local machine that you're on? if not
are you simply creating the new folder via Windows Explorer on the visible
share or are you physically logging on the machine that owns the share. If
you do the latter, you will be able to change and assign permissions
successfully.

Assuming Windows XP.
How to set, view, change, or remove file and folder permissions.

It's W2K and it's something beyond setting basic file permissions...thanks
though.
