MSSECURE.XML Data Version 2005.06.15.0 (for use by MBSA 1.2 and SMS SUS
Feature Pack) was last modified yesterday, June 15, 2005, and is now
available
for all supported languages (English, French, German and Japanese). Today's
release contains NO NEW BULLETINS - but fixes the following data error:
MSXML 3.0 incorrectly reporting SP7 as the latest service pack. MSXML 3.0
SP5 is the latest publicly available MSXML 3.0 service pack, although SP7
can be installed on Windows 2000 platforms when SQL Server 2000 SP4 is
installed, and can be found on Windows Server 2003 machines. MSXML 3.0 SP7
is not available as a separate download at this time.

that is not correct. I've MSXML 3.0 SP7 on my (german) W2k-machine but
have not installed SQL Server 2000 SP4 ... but MDAC 2.81!

I'm sorry you're having this issue, Juergen. Can you please let me know
which Windows platform you are running (Windows 2000 - and which service
pack), and what the MBSA results are for your machine when using the
following command from the command-line on the target machine?
MBSACLI /HF /V
Pedning the results, I would be glad to assist you. Thanks!

When I run MBSA, I got this message:
"Das neuste Service Pack für dieses Produkt ist nicht installiert.
Zurzeit ist SP7 installiert. Das neuste Service Pack ist SP5."
Translation:
The newest Service Pack for this product is not installed. Actually SP7
is installed. The newest Service Pack is SP5.
I got this message on 14.06. and 16.06. On 15.06. I got no
error-message.
I've W2k-SP4 and MDAC 2.81 installed. With MDAC 2.81 also MSXML 3.0 SP7
is installed.
So the 'no error-message' from 15.06. should be correct ... in other
words: The message "The newest Service Pack for this product is not
installed. Actually SP7 is installed. The newest SP5." is not correct.
My version of msxml3.dll is 8.70.1104.0 = MSXML 3.0 SP 7.

MBSA will still report that "SP7 is installed, the latest service pack is
SP5" for customers who have MSXML 3.0 SP7 installed, but this warning can
simply be ignored at this time.
It is correct for MBSA to report that you are on SP7 (since you are!) - and
it is also correct for MBSA to report that the latest service pack that is
available is SP5 (since it is the latest service pack that can be downloaded
and installed separate from any other product that it may have shipped
with). Although the warning mesage may be confusing, MBSA is reporting the
correct results. If this is a problem, you can ignore the warning message
at this time.
I hope that helps...
