Hi,
I was protect some files and folders in Windows XP by Security , but the
protect key is lost and I can't open these files.
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks

Hi,

Unless you encrypted the files, taking ownership might help:

Thanks for your reply.
These files was encrypted. Have you a suggestion to recover files?

No. If the key is lost and there is no recovery agent key, the information
is gone. This is appropriate behaviour for data protection.

I assume you used EFS to encrypt your files. If your machine is joined to a
domain, your recovery agent may be able to recover your files (contact your
admin about that).
If your machine is not joined to a domain, you are probably out of luck.
