Please help me!!!! My daughter was on my computer and somehow reset some
permissions and now I can not log into my computer. I am runnin windows 2000
pro. I am not connected to a network. So I guess my question is

Please give a better description. Do you have more than one user account
on the machine? Is it just that your daughter changed your password? If
so, then log in as Administrator. The password will be whatever you
chose when you set up the machine. If you didn't set the machine up,
the password may just be a blank. Aside from changing your password
(not really a permissions problem), what else did you daughter do? How
old is your daughter? This latter question helps to determine the
extent of the damage.

If you cannot log in at all because of the password problem, then change
the Administrator password to a blank with NTpasswd from:

http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

Then go in and change the password to something you will remember. You
will have to deal with your daughter in an age-appropriate way. Post
back with more details if you want more help.

More info please . . .

Is it just that your password is not accepted ? Or, does it look
like you are being logged in but then get returned to the initial
login screen ? Or, . . .
