Can any one help...
Everytime startup the screen remains blank but once i press Alt-Ctrl-Del to
load up the task manager i have to LOG OFF and log back on for everything to
work! then i get a Windows Security Alert message saying that "Some features
have to be blocked...do you want to keep on blocking this program?" If i say
UNBLOCK then when i restart the same process of it not starting happens.
however when if i delete this from the security firewall option then i have
the same problem!

it all happened a few weeks ago when i got a message saying that windows
explorer needs to be blocked.. do you allow this. ever since then its beeing
so annoying...

I think thats about it...any help would be appreciated

Its unusual for explorer to be listening on the network (that's what's
triggering the security alert). I'd run a virus and spyware check as you
might be hosting something you don't want inside that explorer process.

well thanks for that advice but my friend managed to restore the syetem from
about two weeks ago... around the time this problem started to occur and the
problem now seems to be fixed!

So this goes out to anyone who happens to have a virus or a similar problem
to mine... may be restoring your system from a few weeks back will fix your
problem and none of your documents which you created within that time period
will get affected.
