I THINK MICROSOFT SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED MICROSOFT ANTISPYWARE AS AN ANTIVIRUS
SOFTWARE IN THE VIRUS CONTROL IN TE SECURITY CENTER!OR MICROSOFT SHOULD HAVE
INCLUDED ANTISPYWARE CATEGORY WHEREBY THERE WOULD EITHER A VIRUS CONTROL
CENTER OR ANTISPYWARE CENTER. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN WINDOWS XP
SERVICE PACK 2

First - please replace your keyboard. The caps-lock key seems to be stuck.

Second - AntiSpyware is not AntiVirus.

Third - Microsoft AntiSpyware is in BETA. Beta meaning "in testing stages
of its life - unreliable - use at your own risk."

Fourth - Microsoft had no plans to get into the AntiSpyware business until
AFTER Sp2 was released.. They bought the rights to "Giant AntiSpyware" and
started building from there.

Haven't they had enough lawsuits already? WMP in EU? Java VM in USA? What
next?

Don't bother wasting your time downloading this terrible program. If you want
a proper spyware remover then download SpyBot & delete Microsoft AntiSpyware

Here's where you can download SpyBot:
----------------------------------------------

http://users.skynet.be/fa936042/spybotsd13.exe

SpyBot Latest Definitions:
-----------------------------

http://www.spybotupdates.com/updates/files/spybotsd_includes.exe

You will need to download the other updates too.

This program is 100% FREE unless you fancy sending them a donation

I hope this helps

I do wish you were correct and Spybot did everything.
It doesn't.

OK, so the MS product is a new piece of software and therefore not
perfect - it's also a piece of BETA software and is so still under
development. Rather than just rubbish it why not make constructive
comments about its failings?

I run both spybot and adaware at intervals - fortunately I've never had
to resort to hijackthis and coolwebsearch remover too! Once the MS
product is out of beta and more developed maybe I'll use that as well

ehhh smart comments indeed :-)

responses here seem a lot better than those in the beta ngs
However the expectations of the users are rather high and I am very sure that
they will be disappointed with the final version of MSAS; that is if there is
any final version

MSAS is going to be a part of the applications that I will run occasionally to
clean my system, but I doubt that I will grant it real time protection status.

I will have to agree 110%. After trying the product, I removed the program.
I wasted hours troubleshooting code on a webdesign only to find out by trail
in error that this app was ripping the code out and placing in its own
strange code in both IE and in FireFox. Not a happy camper!
