Fix which? <eg> I will assume your Subject is correct?

First let's find out what we are discussing

<title>You cannot transfer files and settings from a computer that is running
a 32-bit edition of Windows XP to a computer that is running Windows XP
Professional x64 Edition</title>

(MSN search for
KB896344 site:microsoft.com
)

Next I will assume that you made a typo in the error message
and do a Google Groups search for it:

Apparently there were some solutions posted on some SBS newsgroups.
Both apparently involved actually looking at the log (gasp! what a concept!)
and finding the name of a directory which seemed to be causing a problem;
then either renaming or deleting it, so the update could be rerun more cleanly.

(Google Groups search for
"failed to migrate dependent packages"
)
