weird folders appearing after updates

After running update, I find about 45 folders under c:\windows with names
like "$NtUninstallKB329115$." Can I delete these? They all seem to contain
a subfolder "spuninst." I'm assuming they're back-up files for stuff I've
changed via the updates.

Those are the update uninstall files and can be safely deleted once you are
sure you will not need to uninstall the update:
