Hi
I have a small problem and have tried all to fix this. I am using XP Pro
with AMD Athlon XP 3600+ 64 bit processor
I keep getting an error when Windows Update V5 scans my computer. I have
undertaken all the steps that the trouble-shooter requests but still get the
same error code and therefore I believe that my Windows Update files have
become corrupt and would like to re-install the update feature. The problem
is that I do not know what files are to be re installed.
I am currently using the internet based V4 on the Windows update site and so
far I have not been offered the SP2 which I find quite strange because some
of the other "fixes" I have downloaded are for SP2 and have installed ok.
If possible I do not wish to re install Windows completely as it will take
me a month to re install all the software I have on my system and I cannot
afford to go a month without my finance package
Can anyone please tell me the files that I need to delete and re-install to
try and get Windows Update v5 working.
Many thanks for any help I get.
