Wnat does end of support for Win98? I still see updates on update.microsoft.com

Yesterday I visited a Win98 machine and hit update.microsoft.com and
found 4 critical updates. I last updated this machine 4 months ago.
I'm glad MS is still putting out updates but I thought that
MS had ceased to do updates for this OS.
Wnat can we expect for critical updates for w2k in the next couple years?

Don't blame me. I voted for Gore.

W98 programs are not being updated, but when a critical
update is available that will run on W98, such as IE 6 sp1
is released (for XP) it is also made available to those who
run IE 6 on W98.

Al;
When support for a product has ended, expect and plan for no support.
Occasionally there may seem to be support because the same update designed
for another product works with little or no adjustments on the older
product.
Plan accordingly.
