Automatic Update Stalled

It appears that the Automatic Update Service has stalled at 6% and hasn't
been able to recover. I am able to connect to the Windows Update website,
and "Express Install" indicates that there are several updates to install.
But If I attempt to install them manually, they fail. I've re-started the
computer several times, but this doesn't seem to affect the automatic
update's progress. Any thoughts on this?

I have exactly the same problem, I think my problem started when I tried to
download SP2. It got interrupted half way through, and has not been able to
work since.

I have just found a solution that has solved my problem! If you go to this
page:
http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/showarticle.aspx?articleid=11&ln=en
and follow the instructions on deleting the datastore directory contents, it
fixes the problem!
