Max files download limit

Is there a maximum number of files that can be downloaded at anyone
time?

I have recently re-installed XP home and SP2 and a new version of
Office 2003. Now when I go to download files from general web sites
(not ftp) after the 2nd file begins downloading, selecting the 3rd file
halts before the "save as" dialog box comes up. It seems to be waiting
for the header information to be received. Once the 1st file has
finished, the 3rd "save as" box pops up.

Previously I could setup at least 8 files to download and just leaving
running and they would all be there a while later. The overall download
time might have been longer, but it didn't need to be supervised.

Any clues would be appreciated

Steve

Hi,

The limit, as you've found, using Internet Explorer is 2. There is a
commonly available registry hack to change that (google it). Frankly, you
would be better off with a download manager tool if you're doing a lot of
them.
