Guys, can't update this computer for the life of me...Error number:
0x80190193 doesn't show up when I do a search. Have followed previous
guidelines listed here to modify registry. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Try again to connect to W U ...but during some off hours... such as very
late at night.

Maurice, thanks for the quick reply. This is a client office, on an Indian
reservation - coming back at midnight is not an option, and I've tried this
on the weekends already. If it helps, I notice that when I try to do Office
updates, I get the box that says "did you see the IE Info Bar?" but in fact,
I don't see the bar so I can install the Active X control to download those
updates. My settings have been clicked back to Default levels, and I've
followed other suggestions you've laid out. Any further ideas would be
helpful. We have Norton AV 2005, and nothing else fancy going on. Brand new
Dell machine too.

Thanks!

Destin,

Look closely at NAV2005 settings / options. I believe they have a section
where you can specify microsoft site as a "good" site (eg, to not block
active controls from MS ). Another option, is to temporarily disable NAV
before going to W U.

As to your IE browser, is this on IE 6 /Service Pack 2? The info bar show
should right below the Adress bar --- right at the top.
