Seen this error in SUS v1.0 SP1

Hi

I have had SUS v1.0+SP1 running on a Windows Server 2003 + SP1.

Today I updated the Windows Update to v6 client on the server by going to IE
Tools - Windows Update menu.

I have not installed WSUS yet on this server.

Since then when ever I go to the //server/SUSAdmin page I get these errors
in the event viewer But every thing else works like synchronising.

The file exists.

I've seen this in another post - the v6 site was designed to work with WSUS.
I'm going to guess that this client wasn't designed to work with SUS. If my
memory serves me correctly, AU v5.4 (v5 site) was the SUS version, v5.7 was
for WUS beta (beta site), and V5.8 (v6 site) was for the RC and RTM.

You might have to downgrade the AU client if you want to restore
functionality with your SUS server.

Don't un-install please! The error you're seeing is due to some tightened
security in Server 2003 SP1 and MSI 3.1, but it does not cause any imparied
functionality of the SUS 1.0 product - just annoying event log warnings.

I'm pretty sure we're working on a KB article for this, but you should be
able to fix it by granting "NT Authority\Network Service" NTFS read rights
to the following folders:
\Inetpub\Wwwroot\autoupdate\administration
\SUS\wusync
