Hi,

I've also got the same problem. My laptop is Dell Inspiron 1100, Windows XP
Home SP2 with Intel(R) 82845GM Graphics Controller. After installing the
Controller through automatic windows update, the screen remains blank
everytime my laptop comes back from a standby. Is there anyway I can get it
right?

The issue here is a buggy video driver. Try to install an earlier
version of the driver available either from the Dell site or Intel's
site. I had this problem with the latest driver 6.14.10.4020, which is
clearly buggy. Regards,
