Update error 0x800A01AE
Whenever I connect to Windows update with V6,
I get the following error message 0x800A01AE.
I have tried every solution in this group, to no avail.
Windows update did work yesterday.
I may then have run V5, which was updated very
recently.
Thanks for any help.

Hi;
Not sure what all the other solutions you have tried, so here's one
other:
First, Restart your computer. This will ensure that any recent updates
to the WU/MU controls get registered in the System32 folder. Then
follow the steps in this article:

I had the exact same problem today, I have spent about 6 hours trying to fix
it and the link to the Microsoft article fixed it in 2 minnutes.
