When searching for available updates on the Windows Update site, you receive the
0x80248011 error.
This error can occur due to an issue with the Internet cache or corruption in the
Data store.

You may receive an error message when you search for available updates on the Windows
Update Web site

What causes Error 0x80248011
Courtesy of Microsoft:-
Step 1: Reset Internet Explorer settings, and disable third-party Internet Explorer
plug-ins.
1. Click Start, Run, type: inetcpl.cpl and press Enter.
2. Select the General tab, and in the Temporary Internet files window, click Delete
Cookies, and click OK.
3. In the same tab click Delete Flies, check the "Delete all offline contents" box
and click OK.
4. Click "Clear History" and click Yes.
5. Click the Advanced tab.
6. Click the "Use HTTP 1.1" check box.
7. Click the "Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections" check box.
8. Click OK to confirm the changes.
Then, we can open Internet Explorer, and click Tools-> Windows Update to access the
Windows Update site again. If the issue persists, we can refer to the next
suggestion.
Step 2: Rename the temporary folder of Windows Update.
This behavior may occur if the temporary folder of Windows Update has been corrupted.
We can refer to the following steps to rename this folder. Please be assured the
folder will be created again when we visit the Windows Update site again.
1. Click Start, click Run, and type in "cmd" (without quotations) and press Enter.
Please run the following command in the opened window to stop the Automatic Updates
service.
Type in "net stop WuAuServ" (without quotations) and press Enter.
Note: Please ensure the Automatic Updates service is stopped before we try to rename
the folder.
2. Click Start, click Run, and type in "%windir%" (without quotations) and press
Enter.
3. In the opened folder, rename the folder SoftwareDistribution to SDold.
4. Click Start, click Run, and type in "cmd" (without quotations) and press Enter.
Please run the command "net start WuAuServ" in the opened window to restart the
service Automatic Updates.
