Virtual Memory is different than Free Hard Drive Space. Depending on how
much Physical Ram you have in your
Computer ( For WinXP 256MB is marginal ) and how many Programs you are
running at one time plus the effect of
any Malware such as Virus, Trojans, Worms and Adware can give you the
low on virtual memory message.
If you havent checked for Malware in awhile and don't have a good
firewall and antivirus software then use ALL of
these free websites. You can download a free Antivirus and Firewall
from these sites
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 Use all six websites
below to check for malware.

Right-click "My Computer", "Properties", "Advanced" tab. Under
Performance section, click the "Settings" button, "Advanced" tab,
under the Virtual memory section, click the "Change" button, and
check the option, "System managed size". Click the "Set" button,
click "OK", "Apply", and "OK" your way out.

Deborah, follow the advice Unk gave you to make sure that your Virtual
Memory Settings are in order. If you haven't
downloaded and installed Windows Update SP2 then you should go to the MS
windows updates site and do that.
Get the Zone Alarms free firewall, Safer Networking's free Spybot and
Microsoft's free Antispyware.

Deborah, you are using just about everything that I have installed on my
system. I have not had any virus or spyware for
months now. Just be very careful of any e-mail that say's microsoft alert
or any official looking microsoft. Microsoft does
not use email to announce any virus or problems.
