Service pack 2 Problem

This friend at one time updated to service pack 2. It caused problems so she
stated that she found some place to uninstall. Now she tried to reinstall and
after she downloaded it half way into the installation it states that she is
not authorized. She is set up as administrator, but I noticed before the
install the in the Add or remove programs in the control panel, Service pac 2
files are already present. If she removes them will this help. Thanks in
advance.

What exactly is in Add/Remove Programs?
Items with "SP2" at the end are normal for computers without SP-2.
Those are updates that are incorporated in SP-2 and those entries are
removed once SP-2 is installed.
They are not part of SP-2 and do not indicate a partial installation of
SP-2.

If "Service Pack 2" is listed, then SP-2 is installed.

Service pack 2 Problem
