Problem after Auto Update

Software Distribution Service 2.0 was automatically installed on my computer.
Then I couldn't get Internet Explorer to open. I restored my computer to a
point before the update and it worked fine. I tried the update again with the
same problem so I did another restore. I have Windows XP SP2 and IE 6.0.29.
Any ideas why this has happened and how to stop it? The next time MS tries to
do an auto update, will it keep trying to add this last one also?

I am having a very similar problem with Software Distribution Service 2.0 -
after installation I am unable to access the internet although Explorer seems
to be running ok. On both occasions I have had to restore to a previous date
and things revert to normal.

Has there been a resolution to this problem

I have a problem with my computer after an update and now only have 3 choices
in colors none 0f which are above 16 colors. I attempted to restore and no
matter what date I pick it will not complete the restore.
