Volume too low after Windows Update

Since running Windows Update on my Windows XP SP2 machine, my sound
card volume is way, way too low, even with the Volume Control slider
set at maximum.

How can I get my default volume back to more reasonable levels without
uninstalling Windows Update? My sound card is the onboard C-Media AC97
on the ECS K7S5A motherboard.

Thanks.

Dennis, check here and download a C-Media driver or go to ECS website and
get one. Rt click on MyComputer>select
Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>Sound, Video and Game
Controllers>Expand and rt click on your driver if there.
Select Uninstall. You may have to restart and then install the newer
driver.
