I will ask the question first. Is there an issue for Windows 2003 networks
that have turned off XP updates through group policies? My network is a 2003
network that has about 60 XP Pro SP1 users on it. Due to problems with XP
SP2, we turn off automatic updates through the standard domain group policy.
We now have turn on automatic updates but we cannot update any machine. I
get to the window to apply updates and it will not let me. Even after I ran
through all the issues listed with that page. I manually downloaded all
updates, including SP2, through April 15th, 2005 and applied it to one
machine. That machine will now do automatic updates. I figured it had to be
something in one of the updates that fixed the issue. Does anyone know which
one?
