Working on a Dell system with XP2 installed. This machine was infected with
several Viruses and Spyware but I've got this cleaned up. When I try Windows
Update nothing but a blank page is displayed. If I type in v5 after http//
the page loads and starts checking for updates then the error message
occurs.

Problem solved...
Msxml3.dll was missing and causing the error. Downloaded msxml3usa.msi from
MS and fix the problem.
