Does anyone know why the error message "No Control ID Found" would arise when
trying to intall SP2? Error # (from history): 8007058D
And, is it really necessary to download SP2? Sounds like a lot of issues
with it.

Roberta, see if this applies to you.

Also, make sure your system is free of Malware. You can use these free

Thanks, this is a really good start. I will run a full system check and then
try again. I have a really bad feeling that I will have to disable my
antivirus program. I use Avast which I LOVE! And it's free. So much more
effective than Norton or McAfee. BTW, I also use spybot and Ad-aware, if
there is anything else that is more effective-please advise. Thanks again.

Roberta, you should download and install SP2 as long as your system is
free from Malware. You should also be using a
Firewall. Zone Alarm has a freebee version which is very good.
