Hello

My Automatic tab is no longer available under system properties.

Im trying to use windows update but get errors: Error number: 0x8DDD0004

I tried some of the fixes out there, but under manage addons that
WUWebcontrol addon is not listed. And i did try to check both under drop down
list

I looked for the addon, and it is located in C:/windows/Downloaded Program
Files

I have gon around and got the update for SP2, but still dont have that
automatic update tab, nor that addon

Goto Start>Run>cmd

Type the lines below, hitting Enter after each line.
(You can also copy & paste each line directly into the Run box)

REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuapi.dll
REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuaueng.dll
REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\atl.dll
REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wucltui.dll
REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wups.dll
Exit

Now restart your computer.

Updates should become available immediately, and the missing tab should be back.

Ok i tried all the regserv commands
all worked accept this one: REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuaueng.dll
told me file could not be located

I restarted after the rest, and still the tab is missing, and the updates
page goes back to the same error.

Lets attack it from the 0x8DDD0004 error angle...
Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, "Internet Options", "Programs" tab.
Click the "Manage Add-ons..." button, scroll down to "WUWebControlClass" and set it to *Enable*.

If "WUWebControlClass" isn't listed, you'll have to logon as the administrator to have
sufficient privileges to install the add-on.

I found another similar thread of mine and this solution fixed my
issue...dont know how but it just did:

Alternatively, Start/Run --> sysdm.cpl

The system properties came up, and automatic updates tab is also available

It also maybe from another issue i was having with missin sfc.dll from
system32 file. I corrected that issue, and it might have fixed the automatic
update issue as well.

I checked the windows update and that is as well working
