NEWSGROUPS can't post to sub-messages

I have absolutely no problem posting new messages to any newsgroup or
answering a question. THE problem I'm having is if I try to reply to a
sub-message instead of the main message I get the error that the Newsgroup
could not be resolved. If I reply to the initial message I'm fine. This gets
a little weird when I'm trying to reply to a sub-message and not really the
main post... Any Ideas?

Though you are phrasing it absolutely I suppose it could be a problem
with some specific messages only? Those messages aren't "watched" by
chance? If yes, you might just have encountered the so-called "watched-
message-bug", which has been fixed recently (after many, many years!).
See http://www.insideoutlookexpress.com/problems/bugs.htm#acctwatch
for details. The fix won't help with already downloaded messages, so
make sure to have the correct news account selected when replying to
a message.

The poster's NNTP (network news transfer protocol) server has groups
that your NNTP server does not. When you reply, all the groups listed
in the Newsgroup header will get copied from the poster's message into
your reply message (unless the poster used the FollowUp-To header which
specifies which group to post replies). If some or all of the groups
the poster listed in the Newsgroups header are not on your NNTP server
then it cannot post a copy of your reply there. So you click through
the prompts about the undefined groups (on your NNTP server) until they
quit and it posts to whatever groups are left. Or you switch to an NNTP
server that carries those other groups.

I'll try the fix first, and YES I think I have problems with messages that
are "watched".

As far as the NNTP server goes I have selected all of these groups off of my
local ISP providers News Server, so wouldn't that mean that the news server
has all of the groups and messages I use?

I forgot to mention that this only comes into consideration if you
have more than one news account and the messages are not from the
default server!

Well, if the message you attempt to followup to was crossposted to some
newsgroups, that are available on the sender's news server, but not on
yours, then you would see the same problem.
