Internet Connection Wizard failed in XP

I have used the Internet Connection Wizard for connecting to a new I S P
when I had I. E. 6.0 under ME. I have not had any occasion to use it after
migrating to XP but the Dial-Up Networking has disappeared since I installed
XP. Now in order to connect to the Internet, I have to open I E and ask for
connecting to a web-site or open O E and click on Send and Receive button.
With those commands, the Dial-Up Networking Box opens up and the rest of the
operation goes smoothly, most of the times. This implies that the dial-up
networking functionality exists but making new connections is not possible.

Last week, I tried to use the Network Connection Wizard for opening a new
Account for a Broad-Band connection. That is when I found that after
selecting the Connect to Internet Option and clicking on Next, I found that
nothing happens. I cannot even create new desk-top icons for the existing
Dial-Up I S P connection or the new Broad-band Account.

Is there any way to repair Windows XP to make the Dial-Up Networking
operational? or can one get the latest version of I E and O E and install
them over the existing I E and O E.?

You posted with XP SP2 version of OE, so you have the latest major version of IE/OE, but
not the latest updates to them.

Are you using the XP Start menu or Classic? Right click the Start button and select
properties. With the XP start menu, you can select Advanced options and add the Connect
To item to the menu which will list your dial-up networking connections. You apparently
have at least one dial-up connection already, or you wouldn't be able to connect at all.

With Broadband you don't use dial-up connections, since it is always on.
