Problem sending Mail using OE

I have OE getting my Yahoo Mail. I can receive E-mail no problem. Sending
though OE through my yahoo account, i am always getting an error saying
"Unexpectly Terminated". I have deleted it and re-entered it a few times,
even on another computer and all got the same result. Can anyone tell me if
this is a Yahoo Mail problem or a problem on my end and how to fix it?

If you can receive email from pop.mail.yahoo.com, then you should be able
to send email through smtp.mail.yahoo.com. The error message, "Unexpectedly
Terminated" is too cryptic; surely MSOE threw up a more complete message?
As a guess, you have an antivirus program scanning your email. Turn of the
email scanning; your AV memory resident on-access scanner provides all the
protection that you need.

A proper MSOE error message will be similar to this:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'None', Server:
'mail.gmx.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 24, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

The actual error message is as follows:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible reasons
are network problems, inactivity. Account 'xxxxxxx' Server
'smtp.mail.yahoo.com', Port 25, SSL No, Error Number '0X800CCC0F'

I know there are no network problems with my router, or compters on my end
and it cannot be inactivity on my end. So my best guess is a yahoo problem.
However this has been happening for 2 days now. We have notified Yahoo this
morning, and up to this point got no response from there.

Is there anything else i can check on my end? I have done everything i can
think of

1) Deleted account and re-entered it
2) Confirmed settings
3) Tried account on another computer

I still can receive e-mail with this account, but still cannot send with
this account which seems strange.

Who is your isp?
Are they a Yahoo reseller? such as SBC Global?
You may have to use your ISP'S outgoing SMTP server and not yahoo.

My ISP is Rogers who OWN Yahoo.ca Am thinking it is a Yahoo problem
because we have even tried shutting off the e-mail scanner and that had no
effect on the error, it still happened.

Never disable your e-mail scanner!! What bad advice that is!!

I get the same problem if I try & send 2 e-mails a few minutes apart.

It is due to Yahoo closing the port & not allowing it to be open.

What I do is close Outlook Express & say no to sending e-mail from the
dialog that pops up, open OE again & then click SEND/RECEIVE & it then sends
the mail without any problems whatsoever.

That may not be the answer to the OP's problem, but e-mail scanning is
totally useless and can cause Time-outs and other problems. This is from
Symantec, but applies to all Anti-Virus programs:

From:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/d4578f66d8f00a0188256d4e006aaa94/4ba5fc8ef939c44c88256c7500723cf0?OpenDocument&src=bar_sch_nam

Is my computer still protected against viruses if I disable Email Scanning?
Disabling Email Scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses that
are distributed as email attachments. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans
incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and
email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To
make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep
Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have
the most recent virus definitions.

E-mail scanning was developed to give the user a false sense of security,
and eats up CPUs.

You said earlier that you hoped to be an MVP one of these days. If that's
the case, you should understand the problem before you contradict others.

Due to the extreme fragility of the DBX file structure, email scanning by
antivirus programs can destroy a stored DBX file completely, writing all
zeroes to its content. When that happens, there is no real hope of
recovery.

If you'd like to learn more about the DBX file structure, start here:
oedbx main page by Arne Schloh:
http://oedbx.aroh.de/main.html

Most of us sincerely hope that the designer of that particular database is
now safely confined to a rubber room somewhere. And remember, MVPs are free
to contradict Microsoft when experience has shown that advice from MS is not
correct. We've been complaining about the DBX file structure for many years
now and there is finally hope that in the next operating system (Longhorn)
it will only be a distant memory (except for those poor souls who cannot
afford to upgrade or do not have the modern computer that will support the
system).
