[nnmmss]

as i know the inbox.dbx size has a limitation which is about2 gigabyte. over
it the inbox.dbx will be corrupted.now i want ,is there any way that i
increase thehigh limit size of inbox.dbx. or set the OE warn the user when it
is near the limitaion or something like this?

Never store messages in the Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items or Drafts.
Create subfolders to Local Folders for storage. Do not let the .dbx files
get over 100MB. Where you got the 2 GB figure is beyond me and if you have
that much in your Inbox, you are asking for folder corruption.

*Technically*, 2 GB is the limit. But as we all know, trouble happens long
before the limit is reached.

You will know when a dbx file is getting large because the folder will take
longer and longer to open.
All folders not just the inbox should be kept under 100 MB.

In Outlook 97-2002, the maximum data file size limit is 1.8GB. In Outlook
2003, it is in the terabyte range.

Also, the Inbox should not be used as a mail store in any mail program. Once
read, messages should either be deleted or, if you desire to keep them,
moved to user created folders. Storing messages in your Inbox will only lead
to corruption of your mail store.

Most of the time that's true, but there are still users who have problems
due to the fact that the inbox has reached that size.
