I frequently get this error in Outlook Express:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. .... Protocol POP3,
Port: 110, Secure(SSL); No. Socet Error 10053, error Number 0x800CCC0F

Error is sometimes preceded by a 'Common Client User Session' error. I
believe this comes from Symantec.

OE version is 6.00, IE is 6.00 . Rebooting always fixes it.

Any ideas on the cause and/or resolution of this error would be most
appreciated.

Turn off the e-mail scanning in your anti-virus.

If you have an Anti-Spam program, that can also be the cause of the error.
