Cannot read MIME message
I have just been sent an important message in MIME version one,
but my OE6 cannot read this.
Are their some setting I can change to enable me to read this message
or do I not have this facility?.
Thanks for any help.

While viewing in the Preview Pane, press Ctrl + F3 and see if you can read
it through the Message Source. If you can, and you wish to save it, copy the
text and paste it into a new message. Ctrl + S will save a copy to the
Drafts folder and you can move it to where you wish.

Thanks for the reply.
I can read some of the message but the rest is all numbers & letters.
I think it might of had an attachment, if so, could this be in mime format ?.
and am I able to retrieve it ?.
many thanks

All I can suggest is you reply and ask them resend it. For Mail Sending
Format, if they are using HTML, select Quoted Printable for encoding. If
using Plain Text, select Mime and encoding - None.

When you enable the Ctrl+F3 window, scroll down to see if you see any
attachments. A graphic (jpg) file will appear with a header similar to the
following:
Content-Type: image/jpeg;
name="Haunted Mansion_4.jpg"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-ID: <003901c53b85$cfb0d950$214e08d8@janice>
You can harvest any such attachments, by forwarding the message in Plain
Text and all attachments will then appear in a line below the Subject line.
Then a quick File/Save Attachments will save them to a desired folder on
your hard drive.

Thank you both for your suggestions.
I have tried all options with no luck, in fact I think it was a pdf file.
As Bruce suggested, I have requested a re-send hopefully in a format I can
read.
Grateful for your assistance.

Outlook Express supports MIME automatically. If you are seeing a note about the message
being in MIME format in the normal message reading window, then the message headers are
corrupted or incorrect.
