I have tried both disabling the preview pane and downloading images checkbox
in the security tab of the tools options. OE STILL searches for hyperlinks
in downloaded messages. Does anyone else know of a fix???

If the Preview Pane is disabled, how is it trying to search for hyperlinks?
The message is not even opened.

But, if it really concerns you, and you truly have the Preview Pane disabled
(which I seriously doubt, since I've never seen any searching for hyperlinks
with it disabled), you can always work offline, clicking File/Work Offline
and that will stop it.
