New contacts folder?

I have always just used OE as it were, but now I need to sort my
emails into groups, so....
First question:
All my contacts is in the adress book that is shown in the left side
of OE, how do I make some folders so I can split them up in i.e
Friends, family, work etc.
Second question:
If I can get no 1 to work, how do I get OE to sort the emails, so
they go in the right folders when receiving them?

Not sure about the contacts part, but why not create folders of your
contacts names & send the messages to them?
On your 'Folder List' to the left, right click the 'Folder List' & choose
'New Folder...'
Type in a Name for that folder & click 'OK' (the newly created folder will
appear in the list)

To add messages to that folder automatically from a specified person:
Select the e-mail message in your 'Inbox'.
Select 'Create Rule From Message...' from the 'MESSAGE' menu (a dialog box
appears)
Make sure the top box has a tick (check) next to 'Where the From Line
Contains People'
In the second box, put a tick in 'Move It To A Specified Folder'
In the third box, click the 'Specified' link (in blue) & choose the folder
you just created & click 'OK'
Name your rule at the bottom

Click the 'TOOLS' menu, 'MESSAGE RULES' & choose 'Mail' from the submenu
(another dialog appears)
Click the 'APPLY NOW' button on the right (another dialog appears)
Choose the rule you just created & click the 'APPLY NOW' button at the
bottom (your message(s) for that rule will now move to that folder)
Job Done
Each time you get a message from that e-mail address it'll automatically
move into that folder without you doing anything

As it is now ALL my contacts are listed under contacts, but I would
like to put them into different folders i.e Friends, family etc. and
then I have to click on ,say the Friends folder to see the friends
contacts.
If I click on the Contacts pane, the only option I get is is "New
contact", and I was hoping for an "add new contact group" or similar.

Done that and it works :-)
