Hi is there any free tools that can basically go through a folder and detach
all the files to a directory on my pc.

You want to remove attachments en masse? I don't know of a free tool, but
have a look at this one.

I'm not sure if there is a free tool that does that. If you don't mind
paying a modest license fee, you might like to try Aid4Mail Standard which
has the capabilities you're looking for. It offers options to extract
attachments as well as embedded contents like photos. It's easy to use,
fast, and reliable. PC Magazine (USA) recently published an article about it
and gave Aid4Mail a 4/5 rating. You'll find more information about Aid4Mail
