Can't Turn Off NAV Outgoing E-mail Scanning
I am using Outlook Express 6 with Norton Internet Security 2005. I have
Outlook Express configured to automatically hang up after sending mail,
which causes Norton Antivirus to say that the message could not be sent
because the connection was terminated.
I told Norton Antivirus to not scan incoming or outgoing mail by unchecking
those options. But it would still scan outgoing mail and give that error. I
went into Internet Security options and turned of the options to turn off
the tray icon and progress indicator when scanning e-mail. But it still
scans e-mail and gives the error message.
In addition to getting the error message, the e-mails are actually not sent,
so it's more than just an annoying message.
How can I get Norton Antivirus (v. 11.5) to stop scanning outgoing e-mail??
Thanks!

Hello Neil,
When I click reply to your Post, on the Newsgroups Line above
I about two and one half lines of mixed up Newsgroups Addresses.
When I try to send a pop up comes up telling that it cannot be send.
This is a test I have changed the newsgroups line, I am not sure
if will work.
Thanks x@y.

That's because he cross posted his query to multiple newsgroups.
(NOT a good idea.)
And you don't subscribe to those NG's, so your response would get the
pop up.
You did the right thing in stripping them out.

Hello Kath,
I did not know exactly what it was, now I understand.
You are right I do not subscribe to the other couple of NG's
Neil has on his Address line.
I have run across the same situation a few times, now finally it
is clear to me on why it happens.
Thank You very much for letting me know, x@y.
