[XXX.NET]

I would like to view all the messages in a newsgroup, i have my view set to
'Show All Messages', and my synchronization set to 'All Messages'. But when
i open the newsgroup i can only see 8 messages in the View. there is a entry
in the taskbar that says '8 messages, 8 Unread 1113 not downloaded'. How do
I view the 1113 ?

Tools>options>read - and uncheck Get xxx headers at a time.

This doesnt solve it.
My options|read was set for "get 300 headers at a time", surely this means
that it should be
retrieving at least 300 headers of the 1113, yet only 8 are being retrieved
? Is it possible that there are not really 1113 ?

With Get XXX Headers unchecked, go to: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Clean
Up Now. Click Browse and select the correct newsgroup and then click Reset.

i tried another newsgroup where i am unable to view any headers at all. I
did what you said The number of headers appears opposite the group in the
treeview as 10 230 for a few seconds, then dissapears but no headers at all
are downloaded

If this is only happening for some news servers, and not all, it is probably
a problem with the news server and not OE.

I also noticed that you are running a very outdated version of OE/msoe.dll.
Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1106. I can't say if that is the
problem, but it would appear that you haven't visited Windows Updates since
you got this computer.
