Since updating Windows XP Pro via win updates on 6-22-05, I can still access
ng-messages, but can't reply. Neither can I "new-post". I can simply Reply
(to sender) but cannot Reply Group. BTW: I used restore point and all was
well. Then, updated again and same problem. Help. Thx, s

You are on a different box right now? You're headers, Microsoft Outlook
Express 6.00.2800.1106, show a very old version of msoe.dll.
Remove the update and download again with your anti-virus program turned OFF
and see if that works.

Thx, Bruce. I'm actually on same box, but rolled back to an earlier
restore point (yesterday, at a point before I'd d'loaded the updates).
Should I turn OFF ZoneAlarm too, while I'm d'loading/installing the windows
updates? or can I leave it ON while d'loading/installing them? s

You can leave the Firewall on. Just turn off the A/V.

If(IF) you get this: I tried, as per your suggestion w/d/l-&-inst. with
antivirus turned off, but it did the same to my OE ng replies. Restored to
pre-updates & now back to replying correctly. Any more suggestions? Thx in
advance. s

Are you using the new Microsoft Update (vs. Windows Update)?
Is MS Office or Outlook also installed?
Is MS Outlook your default Mail Client and do you use a separate instance of
Outlook Express to access News?
