How do I remove the underline on an typed email address

Hi all.

As said above, when I type an email address in my OE email, that email
address is underlined.

My Hotmail address has an underscore in it and as such that underscore is
hidden by the underlining of the address.

How do I remove it?

You can't remove the underlining.
Change the fonts used to view your address.
Which font are you using now?

You don't need to remove it. Spaces aren't valid in an e-mail address. So if you see
what looks like a space, it must be an underscore.

Just as in my e-mail address
michael_santovec@prodigy.net
there is an underscore between michael and santovec.

And if I were to type the underscore as a space, it would look like
michael santovec@prodigy.net
the space does not get underlined.

Hi there.

My Font is 9 point Arial.

And to elaborate a bit more, my underscore is just before the @ sign and as
such the underscore moves over and gets hidden under the @ symbol.

The problem that is caused by this is that other people seeing my email
address mess it up by either putting in a space before the @ symbol or
leaving the underscore completely out.

If the underlining could be removed then the problem would be solved.

When you send in plain text, you don't control the underlining, because the underlining
isn't sent.. It's the recipient's mail/news program that does it.

Your best bet would be to get a new e-mail address without the underscore. Having an
underscore just before the @ is unusual.

Your other option be to add a note explaining the underscore.
bobsmith_@somewhere.com (note: bobsmith underscore at somewhere.com)

However, if people either click the address to send an e-mail or copy/paste it, they won't
have a problem since the underscore will copy. It's only if they retype the address,
which is prone to error in any case, that the problem occurs.

Thanks guys.

Information noted. I guess I will just have to live with it and do as you
suggest and advise people. My wife would kill me it I even suggested changing
the account name as she has since claimed this hotmail adress as her own.
