I use OE6 and Win XP .... every so often (randomly) the toolbar buttons
'vanish' ..

Right-clicking in the toolbar area shows that the toolbar is still selected
... but the only way for the buttons to reappear is to 'de-select' the
toolbar and then 're-select' it .... any ideas? ... Anyone? ....

It's a well-known bug which doesn't affect all users. Keep doing what
you're doing to restore it or change the focus of Folder pane to 'Outlook
Express' and then back to where you were.
