Help msimn.exe-application error the memory could not be "read"
msimn.exe-application error: the instruction at "0x70a96dc6" referenced
memory at "0x00002745" the memory could not be "read"
Running debug it highlites the following
unhandled exception in msimn.exe (SHLWAPI.DLL) 0XC0000005 access violation.
What does this mean, and how can I go about fixing it.
The problem happens everytime I am in outlook express, but how long it takes
to happen varies. Sometimes it happens within 5 minutes of opening outlook,
and sometimes it could take upwards of an hour.
Thanks for any help.

That is usually a sign of a 3rd party program interfering with OE's
operations. Disable any anti-spam software and also turn off email scanning
by your antivirus software and see if that fixes it. See

In addition to Steve's suggestions, try disabling any troubleshooting
options under OE's menu, Tools/Options/Maintenance. See if that fixes the
immediate problem. It's often caused by having a troubleshooting option
chosen which creates a log file which is continually having info added to it
with each opening and closing of Outlook Express. Also try searching for
those log files and if not needed, delete them. They are usually located in
the same folder as the message store.

Seems that was the problem. I had logging options enabled in OE, when I
disabled them the problem has not returned.
Thanks for you and Steve for the ideas on where to look.

Aww, come on. You're still too young to be having "senior moments." But,
you will eventually. <VBG>
