Moving storage files
I will be using two computers fairly routinely. They are in different
buildings and not connected by a network. I'd like to use OE 6 on both with
the mailboxes, etc.
It looks like I should be able to do it with a ThumbDrive, or Memory Stick
(not sure what they actually call these things.) plugged into the USB port of
the computer I am working on. OE should be able to access all the files from
there just like it was on the machine.
So, two questions:
1) On the current computer I use daily now, how do I move the data files to
the H: drive (the thumb drive) and how do I get OE to keep recognizing that
that is where the files are being stored now.
2) On the new machine, how do I do the equivalent of a "File Open" in OE.
Thanks,
Bob

Easiest method would be to create a folder on your Desktop and drag/drop
messages you wish to save to that folder. At day's end or when you wish to
switch, copy the contents of the folder to your thumb drive, insert it in
the second machine and copy the contents of the thumb drive to a folder on
your Desktop, then drag/drop them into a desired local folder in Outlook
Express. Entire process should only take 45-50 seconds and is something I
do occasionally with a Desktop and TabletPC.

You can swap message files between computers using the method in the last
paragraph on this page: www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx
Alternatively, you can get OEX (www.oehelp.com/OEX/) and use File | Import
and point to the other computer's message store dbx files and import them
across the network.

Thanks, guys,
This seems a lot harder than it should be. In Outlook (not OE) this
procedure is as simple as putting the .PST file on the thumb drive and then
telling Outlook to look there for the file.
Why is OE so much harder?
