OE6 hung on start-up a few days after installing Firefox, after having
owrked fine for ages and ages. I tried several forums for advice, and
got some. None of it has worked. For example, possible corrupted inbox
(http://www.codeconscious.com/outlook-express/).

I finally installed Thunderbird and it is working perfectly, but I
would like to have OE working too.

I’m using a win 2000 machine. Zone alarm, Symantec anti-virus, spybot,
spyblaster, ccleaner (could that have caused it?), adaware.

Any help would be appreciated.

See if anything at this link helps.
Also disable email scanning, it gives no added protection and can cause
the problem you are experiencing.
