Hi TIA,

This is difficult to answer because the problem does not lie with the mail
client or its configuration. From the error message it would appear to
related directly with Comcast's anti-spam strategy.

Your PC may have been hijacked to send spam.

Or you may be sending a large number of e-mails per day. Comcast should have
been able to help! Shame on them.

Did you go to the link? Did you read the link? Did you comprehend what you
read? I see, in part, this:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What can I do if I keep receiving an error message when I try to send
email?
If you've received the below error message when trying to send outgoing
e-mail, it is possible your computer is infected with a virus.

You therefore will need to take immediate actions to clean and protect your
computer.

The error message reads as follows:

550 IP blocked by ldap:ou=rbl,dc=comcast,dc=net ->
550 Message sending error. Please go to
http://faq.comcast.net/faq/answer.jsp?name=17867&cat=Security&subcategory=Spam"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You have been hit by the Comcast port 25 block. Lame as it is, because it
tolerates a lot more abusive behavior than the U.S. DSL provider port 25
blocks, it seems to have kicked in for you.

If you read beyond the part I quoted, it tells you why you got the error
message, and what steps you should take to mitigate any issues.
Unfortunately, your mail service will be restored in 48 hours, regardless
of what you do, or don't do. That is why the system is so lame. If you have
a problem, you need to address it. Comcast should not restore service until
you have either fixed a problem, or figured out that you can't use the
service in the fashion that you expected.
