signature for each mailbox?

Is it possible to have a different signature for
each of my e-mail addresses or am I limited
to just one signature for each "identity"?

Just set up a sig there for each address and uncheck the "add
signature", then before sending an email, click "insert" then sig and
insert the correct sig for that email, then you can control what each
is. Samples below. ;-)

That's interesting. Does it only do text?

I only do txt in emails, but it can do what you can do with any sig
file. All you are doing is creating one for each person, day :-), or
whatever. You just have to select the sig from the list instead of
auto add sig.

I created an HTML file (using Word).
Then I set OE signature to use it.
I got red xs for the graphics.
What did I do wrong?

It does HTML too.

You have to save the word doc as a web page, not a .doc. If you have Front
Page, try that instead. Or Composer from the Mozilla Suite.

Did you save the HTML file and click the box in the bottom of the Signature
tab in Tools/Options to point to a file (the HTML file) you created?

Yes. And it put the HTML file at the bottom of the e-mail where
the cursor was. However, there were two gifs in the HTML file
and they were shown as red x boxes in the e-mail. Maybe gifs
are not allowed in signatures?

The first thing that you did wrong is to use Word to create a HTML file.
The red xs are because the full path to the image files is not used.

You can compose a signature with OE and Notepad.
Create your signature in an OE mail composition window.
View, check Source Edit.
Click on the Source tab.
Highlight and copy the source code.
Paste the code into Notepad.
Save As "signature.htm". Include the quotes. Change signature to your
chose of a name.
Use signature.htm for your signature file.

Or Front Page or Mozilla Composer or any other HTML editor.

As others have already noted, the most common reason for the red x is that
the full file path to the graphic files is not there. Word is a terrible
HTML editor and I'd suggest you use Notepad instead. Also you should be
aware that you can only use a HTML signature in mail that is formatted as an
HTML message.
