OE - Not Able to Print Windows 98

System is able to print from all applications -
No Error Message -
No Dialoge box for printing appears -- File -> Print
Click on Printer Icon -> No output
No Spyware on system

Any clues where to look ... suspect a registry or security setting ...

Try reinstalling the printer drivers from the manufacturer's CD, then go to
Control Panel/Printer applet and make sure the printer is selected as the
Default printer.

Try creating a new identity in Outlook Express and set up your mail account
in the new identity and test it there. You may have some registry
corruption in your existing identity.

Ok that one I have not thought of; yet I would suspect an identity
corruption at the registry level would be exhibited in other areas as well,
such as send or recieve; corrputed messages; or some other failures; that
is why I was looking for registry entries to examine.

O' BTW ... I have been working with MS products for over 15 years and am
fairly well versed in the registry; yet this problem would appear to be a
registry setting for OE set to 0 instead of 1 for printer .... just a
thought ...

Printing in Outlook Express is controlled by the settings for print in
Internet Explorer. I'm not aware of any registry key that would let you
flip an on/off switch in the settings for IE that would affect that unless
in IE you have a View setting under View/Encoding set to Auto Select. If
that's the case, try changing it to Windows vs. Auto Select and see if that
fixes it. You can also review the following articles about printing
problems and see if any apply.

Ok - thanks for your help on this one - I will examine the keys for IE and
OE to see if there is print settings - already read those KB articles
without luck ... when I find the solution I will post it here so to pass on
the knowledge to all ...
