Help on Reply To Post/Reply To Group

Good morning all. I am trying to help a classmate with this problem:

Can someone help me figure out how I can "Reply to Post" because
everytime I click on that icon my computer makes a bubble noise and
kicks me out back to the main screen. This is my ninth class and I have
always just selected the whole message I want to respond to and copy it
on to a new post. Stephanie requires me click on "Reply to Post", but it
doesn't work for me. Is there a simple button I have to adjust to be able
to do what is required? Please help!

Has anybody ever heard of this? Is this a pop up killer? I don't know what version
of Outlook Express she is using yet, or her OS or SP's. She is going to have
problems with her school work if she can't get this fixed. If she does not post
or reply to post correctly, she won't get credit. She is highlighting the original post
and then hitting the reply to group button I have already confirmed that.
Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Try going to File | Identities and set up a new Identity.

Then add the NNTP newsserver you are using to that new Identity. Then see
if it works.

If it still doesn't work, make sure you do point 3 (also point 2) here:
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx

If that doesn't help, then go to Start | Run and type msconfig and disable
all startup items and then reboot and then see if it works.

I am somewhat confused, but I am not using Windows XP, either. Under
Windows ME, MS Outlook Express has only these icons:

Write Message..(for new posts)
Reply Group....(for followups to existing posts)
Reply..........(for email reply to the author of the post)
Forward........(for email forward of the post to somebody eles)

Each works properly in my case, so maybe there is some corruption in your
copy of MSOE; or, more likely, in the Identity. Follow Steve Cochran's
advice to set up a new Identity.
