Jim. I cant help seeing your comments on here. I also have tried all the
suggestions inc using the run. All that happens now is that the link appears
to work, a new window appears then dissapears, and we are back to the mail
page again.. I have been trying for 3 months myself to resolve this. I have
also been via the microsoft links as mentioned in some of the replies.
Can you help???????????????

You might try reinstalling IE and OE. See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#5

Also go to Start | Run and type msconfig and disable all startup items and
reboot and then see if you have the same problem.

Always disclose your OS when you need help.

If this is any OS but XP you should try an IE Repair (ref. KB194177)

Alternatively try the regsvr32 commands listed in KB831429
noting that msjava.dll and shell32.dll may not apply to all OS.

FWIW I don't think the SFC /scannow suggested for XP users
would help but it would be something simpler to try than reinstalling IE
(which BTW in the case of XPsp2 would require that you first uninstall that.)

Good luck
